Lena and Michael Meyer have been partners in the business that is Honey Heaven for years now. Lena watches over the store, Michael is the beekeeper, and this is the story written by Lena about the history of Honey Heaven:
The Birthing of Honey Heaven
"The Sweetest Place on Earth"
Lena and Michael are husband and wife, now they share a honey of a life. When first married this wasn't so--because of the corporate world, they were on the go. They prayed to Jesus for a brand new start. Work together, He put on their hearts. So Michael bought bees and Lena bought jars, they shot for the moon amongst the stars.
Michael, a beekeeper now of 30 years, knew his trade, challenges, and fears. The mites were his enemy, there was no doubt, but with God's help it would all work out. Honey production and pollination his part, for the Lord's business to have a good start. So on with his veil and stings for sure, the trials would "bee"gin to see if he'd endure.
For Lena, the bees were a whole new life, but she was now a beekeeper's wife. And working together was what God said, so off to work with a veil on her head. In the bee yard, she didn't do much, scraping and painting, giving the hives a new touch. Yet she met the bees and watched them at work, and knew her part-they wouldn't shirk.
So she said her prayers and went off to bed, and flavors of honey buzzed in her head. Butters, mustards, lip balms, and creamed honeys, the Lord's way to provide the monies. He awoke her with a vision for sure, we'll build a human hive if you can endure. I'll send you queen bees to help it grow; you'll all work together to let my love flow.
Now, Michael makes honey of all different kinds, no better honey can anyone find. Clover, soybean, wildflower, pollen-rich too, just one kind sure wouldn't do. Berries, apples, almonds, cucumbers to pollinate--moving bees at night, staying up late. Yes Michael keeps beezy taking care of the bees, making sure he meets all of their needs.
While Lena and her queen bees tend to the store, making new products--products galore. Educating customers about the bees, telling them how pollen can eliminate their sneeze. Feeding them also with food made with honey, in their new tea room, making it yummy. Ahh, Honey Heaven, a place of delight, sampling honey and watching bees in flight.
Yes, this is our business after 7 years, we are blessed even through our losses and tears. For we put it in God's Hands, as He asked us to do, it's the only thing that has carried us through! We started with faith and a place oh so small, what we have now, God has provided it all. We give Him glory for all that it's worth, making Honey Heaven the sweetest place on Earth.
And it is a pleasure, an honor in fact, to take care of his business and keep it intact. So we hope that our tour will interest you some, education on how bee things are done. Helping you to know our love for these bees, and how they help with all hunger needs. For they are so precious, this is so true, thanks for your bees-ness and may God bless you.
